Why Peak?

Distinguished College Acceptances

Last year’s senior class was accepted to 100% of the colleges and universities they applied to.  There is no one kind of college that Peak students prefer. We take pride in the fact that Peak’s matriculation list reflects the unique mix of personalities, interests, and goals of our senior class.

“We wanted a school where our student could reach her full potential in a safe and friendly environment. We also wanted her to have as many opportunities as possible for college.” - Peak Parent

“My parents wanted me and my sister to have a good education and we know that Peak provides a great education to all students.”- Peak Student

Higher Test Scores

While we don’t “teach to the test” our students have had success with standardized tests and our juniors take a test prep class to help them learn how to translate their knowledge into multiple-choice tests. In the last three years, our student’s average SAT score was 1160.  For the past 2 years, our eighth graders have scored in the 71st percentile on the PSAT 8/9.

“Peak offers a practical academic model with the ability to gain college credits.”- Peak Parent

A Safe School Environment

Located across the street from the Frisco Police Station, Peak has a small teacher-to-student ratio where everyone knows each other.

“What we appreciate most about Peak School are its small class sizes, dedicated educators, and the inclusive opportunity it offers for students from diverse backgrounds.”- Peak Parent

“Peak is small enough to let everybody know each other so it feels more welcoming than other schools and teachers feel more like friends.”- Peak Student

“We don’t have locks on lockers, and you know everyone in the school”- Peak Student

Seamless Transitions for Student-athletes

Our flexible academic schedule allows student athletes to attend all of their core academic classes in the morning so they do not have to make up work if they leave in the afternoon and don’t need to take online classes.

“Peak offered the most flexibility and seemed the most involved with Team Summit. My family and I also loved the small classes and ways of teaching.”- Peak Student

“If our student-athlete needs to miss school for training or races, Peak teachers are always willing to help by sending work prior or helping complete upon return.”- Peak Parent

Outdoor Education

Our students have opportunities to participate in three-day hut trips and camping orientation trips as well as “mountain days” throughout the year. Not to mention electives like fly fishing, wilderness medicine, and roping.

“Beyond academics, the school's outdoor education program, from hiking to hut trips, are not just memorable experiences but also lessons in teamwork and resilience. My child is truly valued and nurtured at Peak.” - Peak Parent

Smaller Class Sizes

The Peak School has a student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1

“I love that the classes are small, that the teachers want to help me, and the school is small enough to know everyone.”- Peak Student

“Our student was really excited about the small class sizes, emphasis on outdoor activities and trips, and the opportunity to really be matched at her level in different academic areas. We parents agree on all fronts! And there is a special community feel that even we as parents notice.”- Peak Parent

Challenging and Engaging Classes

At The Peak School, we combine a personalized, progressive education with high academic expectations. We believe in creating a community built around common goals and intellectual curiosity.

“That it creates independent, critical thinkers. Students play an important role in their learning. They are aware of the standards they are trying to achieve and why those objectives are important. Plus, grades are dynamic. Students can learn from their mistakes by correcting them and getting recognized for that effort.” -Peak Parent

“I would say the most important factors in choosing Peak were the teacher to student ratio, the harder curriculum, and the overall values that Peak upholds”-Peak Student

Proactive Communication

The Peak School believes that student achievement hinges on the ability of three different parties to communicate clearly in three different ways. Students, parents, and teachers must maintain open, thoughtful, and respectful dialogue through clear speaking, listening, and writing in order to achieve the highest levels of learning.

“I love the individualized encouragement and regular communication about how well (or not well, sometimes) my kids are performing in school; I feel like I'm kept in the loop and abreast of how they're doing” -Peak Parent
