Lend a helping hand
As a community-centered institution, The Peak School places enormous value in giving back to our school and our Summit County, Colorado community.
Every year around MLK day, you join your peers for a day off from classroom academics in order to go out and support local organizations for a service day. In the past, Peak students have volunteered with the Denver Rescue Mission, the Breckenridge Fire Department, Family & Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC), Summit Preschool, the local animal shelter, Breckenridge Outdoor Recreation Center, Farview Horse Rescue, High Country Conservation Center, Summit Senior Center, and Summit Libraries.
In addition, we offer curricular community oriented opportunities, which allow students to receive elective credit for their service, including a course that takes Peak students to the local elementary school three days per week for an afternoon of reading and engaging with our younger community members.
